The kdrums story.

It all started around 2002 when I was looking for a new snare to buy. After hunting for a while and finding nothing close in NZ I turned to attempting to make one from scratch myself. At the time I was a carpenter, completing new builds and renovations so working with timber wasn't new to me.

After much trial and error, mainly error, I managed through the years to build jigs, acquire precision tools and hone my skills in the drum making game.

Countless hours has gone into the kdrums product in research alone.

Being a drummer myself I played a lot of different kits. Now after making my own and comparing it to many top line kits I've played, I am very proud of the sound that NZ native timbers can produce. Its amazingly warm sounding and in natural timber finish, plus looks very sexy!

Everything customised to be just how you want it to look and sound. The variety of NZ native timbers out there is massive to get the look and sound you're after. Still to this day kdrums are all handmade by myself. This way I can ensure the highest standards are kept on all my products.
